And the correct answers (in case you missed one or two) are:
1. MC Onyx Stone and Mr. Malibu lend their talents to produce “Whadda We Like?” As part of the UK garage scene, the track was also released on multiple platforms, broadening its audience.
2. In the “We Know Something You Don’t Know” video, costumed dancers, including a notable bear suit, were used. Chali 2na and Akil didn’t don these costumes, but B-boys braved them in high temperatures.
3. “Touch the Sky” is produced by Just Blaze. The track samples Curtis Mayfield’s “Move On Up,” standing out as the sole song on “Late Registration” not produced by Kanye himself.
4. Tweet’s “Turn Da Lights Off” features samples of Nat King Cole. The singer’s collaboration with Missy Elliott showcases her sultry vocal style alongside Elliott’s rap flair.
5. “Sugah” was co-written by Amanfu and Tommy Sims, famed for collaborations with Eric Clapton. The song brought Amanfu significant acclaim and helped launch her UK career.
6. Doman & Gooding’s “Runnin'” borrows from Carrie Lucas’ “Dance with You.” The duo’s debut single also enjoyed moderate success on the charts in Canada and the UK.
7. “Caught Out There” features an instrumental originally meant for Busta Rhymes. Kelis’ iconic chorus contributed to the song’s enduring acclaim and various cultural appearances.
8. “The Switch” by Planet Funk scored a number 2 spot on the UK Dance Singles Chart. The band’s signature electronic blend features prominently on this well-rounded track.
9. The Coral’s single “Don’t Think You’re the First” led the album “Magic and Medicine.” The track was key in building anticipation for what became a number 1 UK album.
10. “The Sweet Escape” reached number 2 on the UK Singles Chart. This dance-pop track, featuring Akon, received a Grammy nomination and sustained long chart presence.
11. Paramore placed “Misery Business” on hold due to concerns over its lyrics. The song has been a central part of their discography, attaining multi-platinum status.
12. During their farewell show, LCD Soundsystem joined forces with Arcade Fire for “North American Scum.” This rendition is fondly remembered by fans of the rock-electronic blend.
