And the correct answers (in case you missed one or two) are:
1. The cover art for “Once And Never Again” features a painting of Gene Pitney and Dusty Springfield. This nods to pop icons and hints at the band’s stylistic influences.
2. “Star Girl” was inspired by Tom Fletcher’s dream about an alien woman. The concepts of love and extraterrestrial intrigue are cleverly combined.
3. The title “Adrienne” was chosen to avoid legal issues as the original people were too identifiable. A generic name did the trick.
4. “Acrylic” was released by A&M Records. A non-album single promoting tour dates, it showcases the band’s early vigor.
5. “Live in a Hiding Place” delves into feelings of safety and introspection. The acoustic track complements these overarching themes.
6. “Local Boy” by The Rifles charted at number 36 on the UK Singles Chart. It fared better on the Independent Singles Chart at number 5.
7. “Freakin’ Out” saw a re-release as a double A-side with “All Over Me.” Graham Coxon knows how to keep things fresh.
8. Oasis released “Lord Don’t Slow Me Down” as their first non-album single since “Whatever.” History apparently loves a good repeat.
9. “Circle. Square. Triangle” is defined by its dance-punk style. Test Icicles knew how to combine aggression with a beat.
10. Mick Jagger provided lead vocals for “Old Habits Die Hard.” A proven formula winning a Golden Globe, yet again.
11. “The Bucket” centers on handling fame, especially bassist Jared Followill’s experience at age 17. Young fame is rarely simple.
12. “The Intention Craft” explores the boundary between dreaming and wakefulness. Themes blend psyche with ethereal soundscapes.
