1. Randy Weston's "Hi Fly" was inspired by his remarkable height of 6 feet 8 inches. The title with a lofty suggestion is a nod to this personal trait.

2. Buddy DeFranco's filmed performance of "Yesterdays" occurred at the Aurex Jazz Festival in Tokyo, a festival known for its impressive lineup of jazz greats.
