And the correct answers (in case you missed one or two) are:
1. Mis-Teeq’s “One Night Stand” features a vibrant mix of R&B melodies and UK garage beats. It marked their entry into the UK urban pop landscape of the early 2000s.
2. “Stomp” borrows its rhythm from Chic’s “Everybody Dance”. This infusion of old and new helped Steps achieve chart success.
3. Duck Sauce’s “aNYway” cleverly combines 1970s disco with house music, crafting a danceable tribute to earlier eras.
4. The 2005 remix of “Pump Up The Jam” by D.O.N.S. with Technotronic peaked at number 13 on the UK Physical Singles Chart.
5. “Rumours” was released by the British R&B group Damage in 2000, underlining their 2-step and R&B influence.
6. The music video for “Let Me Know” transforms the Classy Touch Café in Slough into a retro nightclub. It’s a disco playground in disguise.
7. “Runaway” led Jamiroquai’s greatest hits compilation, “High Times: Singles 1992–2006”, and became a standout dance track.
8. In “Bad Romance,” Lady Gaga channels her dramatic flair inside a bathhouse, infusing her pop spectacle with a touch of the theatrical.
9. Robbie Williams teamed up with Guy Chambers to co-write the duet with Kylie Minogue. A touch of “Grease” in the music video didn’t hurt its appeal.
10. Before its wider release, “It Began in Afrika” circulated as “Electronic Battle Weapon 5”. This tactical rebranding wasn’t purely cosmetic.
11. The iconic melody in Energy 52’s track is based on Wim Mertens’ “Struggle for Pleasure”, showcasing cross-genre collaboration.
12. In 1997, the Sash! track ascended to number one on the Scottish charts, a testament to the track’s Eurodance allure.
