3 . Nas – Hate Me Now (w/ Puff Daddy)

Directed by Hype Williams, the 1999 music video for “Hate Me Now” caused a stir with its controversial imagery of Nas being crucified, symbolizing his struggle against media and critics. Interestingly, the video also showed Puff Daddy in a crucified position. However, as a devout Catholic, Puff Daddy requested his scene be removed before the official release. Due to an error, the uncensored version aired on MTV, leading to a legal confrontation and an eventual settlement between Puff Daddy and Nas’ manager, Steve Stoute. The original uncensored video resurfaced in November 2022.
