Too $hort reroutes the Super Bowl crowd from Santa Clara to Oakland’s real flavor
Too $hort takes Billboard to Oakland, pausing at Y’s Choice for turkey wings and seafood, offering his read on the Bay’s layered identity as Super Bowl LX lands in Santa Clara. He gestures toward Ghirardelli Square and Pier 39 for those craving water views and crustaceans, then nudges the curious to Oakland for a dose of local culture.
He namechecks Zendaya and Ryan Coogler as hometown forces, and reframes MC Hammer as a maligned innovator. A Bad Bunny show in L.A. leaves him stunned by its “collection of beautiful women”—an experience so overwhelming, he jokes he needed a neck brace.
“Blow the Whistle” morphs into a Philadelphia Eagles anthem, a shift Too $hort attributes to Gillie. Streams surge, but he claims no strategy—just a timely cameo. He and E-40 are booked to perform at the NFL Honors, nodding once more to the Bay’s presence in football’s theater.
