And the correct answers (in case you missed one or two) are:
1. The Vamps released their song on 6 April 2014, marking it as the third single from “Meet the Vamps.” Their catchy pop rock style charmed many a chart.
2. Jessie J recorded her track at Herminator Studios. The tune, part of her debut album, barely lingered on the UK charts but charmed live audiences worldwide.
3. To drum up buzz, The Strokes creatively gave away their single as a free download for a short period. A brief digital fling with fans, if you will.
4. The All Time Low single stood out by using performance clips from the Glamour Kills Tour. An audiovisual treat combining tour energy with catchy hooks.
5. Royal Blood’s track leans into stoner rock, which suits the duo’s heavy riffs. Just a two-piece making a heavy sound, all by themselves.
6. In Paris, live and acoustic, Paolo Nutini added a certain French flair to “Better Man.” The city of love might inspire a “better” performance.
7. “She Looks So Perfect” by 5 Seconds of Summer hit number one in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and the UK. A global chart-crasher of sorts.
8. Hadouken!’s single, initially missing the “RipGroove” sample, regained it after negotiations. Music clearance can sometimes be a game of patience.
9. In “Love Drunk,” Boys Like Girls tackle the hangover of romance. Sometimes relationships leave you dizzy for more reasons than one.
10. Kids In Glass Houses emphasized ambition, narrating through rock tones about using time wisely. Melodic motivation straight out of “Dirt”.
11. “2All” was released as the second single, acting as a prelude to Catfish and the Bottlemen’s full “Balance” album cascade.
12. James Bay’s “Running” associated itself with Sport Relief, mixing soulful music with charitable grooves. Abbey Road’s touch may have helped.
