And the correct answers (in case you missed one or two) are:
1. British reggae band UB40 collaborated with Chrissie Hynde to cover “Breakfast in Bed”. The track appeared on their self-titled eighth studio album.
2. “(I’m a) T.V. Savage” peaked at number 45 on the UK Singles Chart in 1982. The song was featured as a B-side to “See Jungle! (Jungle Boy)”.
3. Oliver Cheatham’s “Get Down Saturday Night” played on the in-game radio of *Grand Theft Auto: Vice City*. Its post-disco vibe fit perfectly with the 80s setting.
4. “See You Later” by The Regents reached number 55 on the UK Singles Chart in 1980. It followed their earlier single, “7 Teen,” which had more chart success.
5. “Roses” by Haywoode entered the UK Top 20 upon its re-release in 1986, peaking at number 11. This track remains her best-known chart hit.
6. Andy Warhol directed the music video for “Misfit” by Curiosity Killed the Cat. The collaboration with the iconic artist helped elevate the band’s image.
7. The Chi-Lites originally recorded “Too Good to Be Forgotten” before Amazulu covered it. Amazulu’s ska-infused version charted in the UK and internationally.
8. In “My Heart’s Beating Wild (Tic Tac Tic Tac)” by the Gibson Brothers, the repeated phrase “tic tac” underscores the rhythmic heartbeat metaphor.
9. “London Nights” is by the British Europop duo London Boys. The song was written and produced by Ralf René Maué.
10. Vicious Pink used the Jupiter-8 synthesizer in their 1984 single alongside the Fairlight CMI. The result was a rich soundscape characterized by synthesized layers.
11. Light of the World’s “London Town” is associated with the jazz-funk genre. The track was part of the broader UK soul/funk movement of the late 70s and 80s.
12. Robert Owens lent his vocals to the 1989 track by Frankie Knuckles and Satoshi Tomiie. The song “Tears” became a staple of the electronic/dance genre.
