And the correct answers (in case you missed one or two) are:
1. “Music and You” by Room 5 reached number 38 on the UK Singles Chart. Oliver Cheatham’s vocals continued to engage audiences, following up their previous collaborative hit.
2. The Sound Bluntz released their remix of “Billie Jean” in 2002. Their rework adapts Michael Jackson’s original for the dancefloor with a pulsating house beat.
3. Syke ‘n’ Sugarstarr are credited with production but not as composers for the track featuring Sharon Phillips. The song was a collaboration highlighting Phillips’ vocal and writing talents.
4. “The Bomb” by Love Connection epitomizes the late-’90s and early-2000s house music era. It mixes disco samples with club-oriented production for a dance hit.
5. “Dance To The Underground” was released by the City Slang label. This post-punk revival track by Radio 4 found modest chart success in both the UK singles and independent charts.
6. 2Play produced a dancehall version of “Careless Whisper” in 2004. This reimagining of the 1984 hit combined Thomas Jules and Jucxi D’s vocals with a reggae twist.
7. Lady Gaga’s track about intimacy in darkness appears on “The Fame Monster.” Reflecting her influences, it tackles personal insecurities through catchy Europop rhythms.
8. “Heart of Gold” features a protagonist expressing unreciprocated love. This production by Force & Styles, later remixed with Kelly Llorenna’s vocals, tells a tale of yearning.
9. “Discopolis” by Lifelike and Kris Menace became a classic Ibiza anthem. Known for its infectious melody, it gained a significant following and inspired numerous remixes.
10. Proceeds from George Sampson’s single were donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital. Known primarily for his dancing, Sampson’s charitable endeavor helped fund pediatric care.
11. Same Difference released “We R One” after their stint on The X Factor. The track led their first album and marked their step into the pop limelight.
12. Depeche Mode’s “Something To Do” features an “arr, arr” sample. This distinctive sound results from creative vocal processing with modular synthesizers.
