And the correct answers (in case you missed one or two) are:
1. Natalie Cole’s R&B cover peaked at number five on the UK Singles Chart. With Bruce Springsteen’s original as an artistic springboard, it mirrored success on both sides of the Atlantic.
2. "Stay" was released alongside "Distant Lover" as an R&B single from The Controllers' album. While both tracks left an impression, "Stay" ranked higher on the R&B chart.
3. Cassio Ware, along with Jenkins and Richardson, produced Jomanda’s dance hit. Fused with their talents, the single delivered memorable club beats.
4. Ruth Pointer delivered the lead vocals for this Pointer Sisters track. Her performance was central to the song’s widespread acclaim.
5. "You and Me Tonight" appeared on the European "Like I Like It" reissue. Remixed and renamed, it found new life across charts by Aurra and Déjà.
6. The song by The Beatmasters hit number forty-four on the UK charts. Its blend of house and rap rhythms captivated dance floors in the late '80s.
7. "Night Birds" takes its place on the album of the same name. Shakatak’s jazz-funk sound underpins its signature style.
8. The Weather Girls’ post-disco session wrapped in a brisk ninety minutes. The quick pace didn’t hinder its dance anthem status.
9. Stevie Ray Vaughan contributed to David Bowie’s track with his guitar finesse. His involvement gave the album a bluesy edge.
10. Shannon’s track featured an uncredited Jimi Tunnell's vocal. The duo's collaboration reshaped R&B sounds of the early '80s.
11. The visual backdrop for Coldcut's track came from the directors Big TV! Their work animated the single with vivid dance images.
12. "Baby I Don’t Care" topped charts in the UK and Australia but missed the US top three. Its catchy hooks didn’t cross the Atlantic hit threshold.
