And the correct answers (in case you missed one or two) are:
1. The song was adapted with French lyrics by Jérôme Soligny and became “Paris City Boy” for the French edition. It later appeared in full on a special edition of “Nightlife”.
2. The B-side “The Loneliness of a Middle Distance Runner” nods to Alan Sillitoe’s short story. It shares thematic elements of personal endurance and struggle.
3. Actor Robin Tunney appears in the “Breathe In” music video. Known for her roles in “The Craft” and “Prison Break”, she added depth to the visual narrative.
4. “Shopping Trolley” features production by Jim O’Rourke. His touch ensured a seamless blend of folk and electronic sounds, showcasing Orton’s lyrical prowess.
5. Dane Bowers’ “Another Lover” is classified in the pop genre. It helped establish his solo career post-Another Level’s success.
6. The “Mistake” video depicts McIntosh at a glamorous party. Interactions with Carnes add drama to the on-screen narrative, highlighting relationship nuances.
7. “Winter” evokes a melancholic and reflective atmosphere. Cord’s use of guitar work mirrors the season’s introspection, layered with rich lyricism.
8. The prominence of acoustic guitar defines Delerium’s track with Jaël. The instrument adds texture to the otherwise electronic production.
9. Bergsman left The Concretes after “In Colour”. Her departure marked the start of her solo project, Taken By Trees, furthering her artistic exploration.
10. A live choral recording accompanied Goldfrapp’s third single. The digital EP expanded on the album’s ethereal qualities with live renditions.
11. Birdman Records initially released “Phoenix” in the U.S. The Warlocks later issued the track as a single through Mute Records in 2003.
12. “Getting Away With It (All Messed Up)” was the sole single from “Pleased to Meet You”. Its release showcased the band’s enduring appeal and unique sound.
