And the correct answers (in case you missed one or two) are:
1. Jimmy Pop was intimately involved in crafting “Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo”. With a cheeky code name like that, it’s not shocking he had a hand in the lyrics.
2. Bernard Butler, known for his time in Suede, lent his guitar skills to “I’m No Angel”. His collaboration with Heather Nova showcased his versatility.
3. “Oh Stacey (Look What You’ve Done!)” managed a respectable number 24 on the UK Singles Chart, solidifying The Zutons’ knack for memorable tunes.
4. Orange found the quaintness of “Little Yellow Spider” appealing enough for a commercial backdrop. It’s all in the charming eccentricity of Devendra Banhart.
5. PJ Harvey’s “Shame” was a highlight of her “Uh Huh Her” album. Lyrical introspection paired with minimalistic production was PJ at her best.
6. A phone number mysteriously appears in the lyrics of “Vice”. Razorlight’s Johnny Borrell seemed eager to get personal with unsuspecting listeners.
7. Snakes were obviously the thematic obsession in “Snakes on a Plane (Bring It)”. Who doesn’t love a well-executed reptilian airline caper?
8. In Canada, “Open Road” by Bryan Adams cruised comfortably to number 1. Nothing like a home-country advantage in the charts.
9. Ian Brown expanded his artistic vision by directing “F.E.A.R.” The reversed footage complemented the track’s deeper musings perfectly.
10. “Trains to Brazil” was written as a poignant nod to Jean Charles de Menezes, forever etching real-world tragedy into musical expression.
11. “Chicken” found its spotlight in a Nike commercial, proving that quirky indie tunes have a place amidst athletic ambition.
12. “Death” by White Lies fit the macabre tone of “Jennifer’s Body”. The track’s inherent darkness resonated with the film’s eerie atmosphere.
