And the correct answers (in case you missed one or two) are:
1. 8-track tapes are nostalgic but weren’t invited to the launch party. “This House” enjoyed playing the field, appearing in formats like 12-inch vinyl, but not 8-track. The song enjoyed success, reaching high positions on multiple charts.
2. Tim O’Connor of Frente! penned the debut single, proving that typos can become iconic. Meanwhile, Angie Hart lent her voice to “accidentally” breathe life into the track.
3. Seal’s music video showcased him seated upon a scarlet throne. Red thrones and white smoke — quite the regal choice for a visual musing.
4. Paul Weller drew from past musical gems, weaving Electric Light Orchestra’s “10538 Overture” into his tune, leaving listeners suddenly nostalgic for spaceships and electric light.
5. Lindsey Buckingham tapped into barbershop-style harmonies for “Save Me a Place,” fitting for those itching for a nostalgic cut of vocal styling.
6. “Wild One” by Faith Hill ran away with the prize for longest No. 1 by a female artist on the Hot Country Songs chart since 1977, deftly showing how to last in the musical rodeo.
7. Sleeper’s Britpop single came with a cover of Blondie’s “Atomic,” turning listeners into curators of sonic history while packing a musical surprise.
8. To complement their music, Texas supplied fans with a limited Acoustic EP edition, packed with postcards, perfect for penning a picturesque note or two.
9. The Wildhearts embraced Victorian-style theatrics for their music video, merging past elegance with their cacophonous riffs, fit for a 1990s bowler hat affair.
10. Playing with textures, the electric guitar in “Feel Like Change” took on the guise of a pedal-steel, blending classic and inventive tones in a tasteful harmonic jug.
11. Before “Tomorrow” polished its edges, James and Brian Eno collaborated on an experimental version that landed initially on “Wah Wah”. Now, it’s the opener on “Whiplash”.
12. Sullivan’s close encounter with electrifying stage mishaps inspired “Wonderful Way to Go.” Survival, as it turns out, penned memorable lyrical fare.
