And the correct answers (in case you missed one or two) are:
1. Barry Manilow performed “Please Don’t Be Scared” at the AIDS benefit event, That’s What Friends Are For: AIDS Concert ’88. This event was headed by Dionne Warwick for the Warwick Foundation.
2. “Nite and Day” has a documented history of seven covers. Artists include Ronny Jordan, Raheem DeVaughn, and Meshell Ndegeocello, among others.
3. On Chris Rea’s album *Dancing with Strangers*, “Loving You Again” is the ninth track. The single version is slightly shorter than the album version.
4. Proceeds from Gwen Guthrie’s “Can’t Love You Tonight” were directed to the AIDS Coalition. The song addressed the then-taboo subject of AIDS.
5. “I Need a Man” by Eurythmics reached number 6 on the US Dance Club Songs chart. It was a double A-side with “Beethoven (I Love to Listen To)”.
6. The lyrics of “Stone Cold” were inspired by Roger Glover’s divorce story. The title reflects his description of feeling “stone cold” after the separation.
7. ABC performed “Be Near Me” on American Bandstand. The band also featured “How To Be A Millionaire” during the same appearance.
8. Rick Springfield performed “Jessie’s Girl” on American Bandstand, not at a festival. The US No. 1 hit coincided with MTV’s launch.
9. Known in English as “Irresistible,” “Ouragan” was the debut single by Princess Stéphanie of Monaco. The single was released in both French and English.
10. “A Love Worth Waiting For” was Shakin’ Stevens’ fourth single from *The Bop Won’t Stop*. It was performed on Top Of The Pops during a Christmas special.
11. Will Downing’s “A Love Supreme” is a cover of John Coltrane’s work. The track was part of Downing’s debut self-titled album.
12. “Do Not Pass Me By” is the 12th track on MC Hammer’s *Too Legit to Quit*. It is a gospel standard in a predominantly hip-hop album.
