Gloria Estefan strolls back into the Tropical Albums Top 10 with ‘Raíces’
Gloria Estefan returns to Billboard’s Top Tropical Albums with Raíces, landing at No. 9 on the chart dated June 14. The 16th studio album earns her a sixth appearance in the top 10 since 1993.
Raíces pulls in 1,000 equivalent album units in its first week, with most from traditional sales and 280,000 U.S. streams. Released May 28, the 13-track LP includes 11 Spanish tracks and two in English.
The title song scored a rare triple No. 1 on Latin Airplay, Tropical, and Latin Pop charts. “La Vecina (No Se Na’)” jumps from No. 25 to No. 18 on Tropical Airplay.
Estefan joins a short list of women with at least six top 10s since the chart’s 1985 launch—trailing only Tañón, Cruz, India, and Gisselle.
