Jamiroquai Spins New Vinyl Deal with BMG, Eyes Ninth Album Release
British jazz-funk ensemble Jamiroquai has signed a global recording deal with BMG, paving the way for their ninth studio album. Their previous release, Automaton, came out in 2017 under Virgin EMI.
The band's discography boasts four UK No. 1 albums and a No. 1 single, "Deeper Underground." Dua Lipa hits Wembley with Jamiroquai's Jay Kay, trades Houdini for funk nostalgia
On the first of her two Wembley Stadium dates, Dua Lipa enlists Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay for a surprise rendition of “Virtual Insanity,” a nod to ‘90s futurist funk amid a synthetic, stadium-sized pop landscape. She cites him as a “trailblazer” before they launch into the track, merging eras with polished choreography and retro grooves.
Lipa’s 21-song set sees her glide from radio staples like “Houdini” to liner notes deep cuts like “Maria,” while addressing the 70,000 audience with practiced awe, recalling her trajectory from a 350-person London gig a decade prior.
