Chrissie Hynde Compares Concert Phones to Primates, Urges Fans to Tune In
Chrissie Hynde, the Pretenders' unapologetic frontwoman, pens a candid appeal to her fans, urging them to stash away their smartphones during concerts. Her missive laments the modern, tech-savvy audience's proclivity for recording over experiencing.
Comparing the ubiquitous glow of screens to the indiscreet behavior of primates, Hynde invokes an analog era nostalgia. She invites attendees to immerse themselves, suggesting that true artistry demands undivided attention, untouched by intrusive clicks and blinding flashes.
