Florence + The Machine conjure gothic grief, choir in tow, on Norton stage
Florence + The Machine bring a dose of theatrical fervor to the Graham Norton Show with “Everybody Scream,” a gothic incantation backed by choir, shadowy lighting, and Florence Welch’s upward-spiraling vocals. The performance previews their sixth album arriving October 31, steeped in themes of spiritual mysticism, female anguish, and the quiet horrors of mortality.
Inspired by Welch’s ectopic pregnancy during the 2023 tour, the album interrogates womanhood, aging, and bodily limits. Contributors include members of The National, IDLES, and Mitski. A 2026 arena tour and NOS Alive headlining slot are scheduled.
