Adam Levine skims Seventies funk with yacht-party ease on Maroon 5’s latest release
On Maroon 5’s eighth studio project, Adam Levine tiptoes through forgotten corners of Seventies funk, slipping vintage textures under glossy hooks and poolside rhythms. The band wears nostalgia lightly, as though leafing through dusty vinyl bins with designer gloves, never breaking a sweat.
Cameos from Sexyy Red, Lisa, and Lil Wayne function less as disruptions than curated indulgences—each arriving like surprise guests at a yacht party that intentionally forgot its anchor.
