Steve Aoki sued for promoting MetaZoo NFTs—forgot to tag #PaidPartner
Steve Aoki faces a class-action lawsuit accusing him of promoting MetaZoo NFTs and trading cards without disclosing financial ties on Instagram. The DJ became a part-owner in 2021 and launched a collector’s card set tied to his album HiROQUEST: Genesis.
The lawsuit claims buyers were misled by undeclared endorsements, leading them to purchase overvalued digital assets that are now worthless. Co-defendant Matt Kalish and Aoki allegedly contributed to inflated sales ahead of MetaZoo’s 2024 bankruptcy.

Hoobastank’s “The Reason” traded guitars for glowsticks in new Steve Aoki remix
Two decades after Hoobastank’s “The Reason” climbed to No. 2 on the Hot 100, the track returns in a new EDM incarnation by Steve Aoki and Dutch duo Sound Rush. The remix spins the early-2000s alt-rock hit into a hardstyle anthem, featured on Aoki’s project HiROQUEST 3: Paragon Remixed.
Having teased versions of the song during past festival sets, Aoki now gives it an official release. The original’s karaoke-primed chorus survives intact, still triggering mass singalongs from dive bars to Tomorrowland stages.

Steve Aoki names son Rocky77—numerology, legacy, and a punch from the past
Interpolating irony straight from the DJ booth to the nursery, Steve Aoki explains to TMZ that his newborn son's name, Rocky77, is a deliberate blend of legacy and personal numerology. "Rocky" channels the grit and resilience of a beloved cinematic fighter, anchoring the child’s identity in determination.
The “77” is plucked from Steve’s own mythology—his lucky number, his brand's hallmark, a symbol stitched across his life and, now, his fatherhood debut. No metaphors, just selective storytelling.
