Björk trades tour stops for soundscapes in Iceland's National Gallery 2026 takeover
Björk prepares a new sonic incarnation as part of her takeover of the National Gallery of Iceland for the 2026 Reykjavik Arts Festival. The immersive exhibition ‘Echolalia’ features three installations, including one based on unreleased music from an upcoming album still in development.
The two other installations, ‘Ancestress’ and ‘Sorrowful Soil’, mine grief and memory, reworking prior material from ‘Fossora’ in tribute to her late mother. The artist closes her ‘Cornucopia’ tour and keeps up a steady rhythm of sonic and activist output post-2023.
