Tom Waits: Celebrating 'Small Change' with Nostalgic Vinyl and Rare Footage

Tom Waits marks the 50th anniversary of his seminal 1976 album 'Small Change' with a vinyl reissue, enriched by rare archive footage. Rich with Waits’ narrative finesse, the album's classic tracks like ‘Tom Traubert’s Blues’ and ‘The Piano Has Been Drinking’ exemplify his mature vocal style, drawing inspiration from American songbook, jazz, and beat poetry.

Waits reflects on his evolution; his early L.A. nightclub doorman job and eavesdropping on late-night diner conversations as sources of his songwriting muse, aspiring to weave these into meaningful art.
