Philip Glass pulls Lincoln piece as Kennedy Center adds a new presidential twist
Philip Glass withdraws his Lincoln-themed orchestral piece from the Kennedy Center, citing a fundamental mismatch between the venue's current direction and the historical clarity of Abraham Lincoln’s values. Slated for a June debut with the National Symphony Orchestra, the piece is now on indefinite pause.
Glass joins an exodus of performers distancing themselves from the Kennedy Center after recent political entanglements, including the prominent addition of Trump’s name to the building’s façade.
