When the conversation pivots to newer acts, Hughes doesn’t mince words—he says he hears no modern-day Led Zeppelin or Rolling Stones, suggesting the new generation hasn’t birthed its larger-than-life mythmakers just yet.

Glenn Hughes Plans No Farewell, Just a Quiet Exit—Whenever That May Be
Glenn Hughes, the former DEEP PURPLE bassist and vocalist, confirms he has no plans to announce a farewell show. When asked on the Thunder Underground podcast, he explains that his last performance will arrive unceremoniously—without fanfare or declarations.
Returning to the subject of collaborations, Hughes is noncommittal about reuniting with BLACK SABBATH’s Tony Iommi, his creative partner on the 1986 "Seventh Star" project, leaving the door neither open nor closed.
