Joe Perry Project returns with Aerosmith, Black Crowes, STP—nostalgia, reworked

Joe Perry refreshes the Joe Perry Project with a line-up that borders on rock diplomacy. Aerosmith’s Brad Whitford joins on guitar, Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes growls lead vocals, and Stone Temple Pilots’ Robert DeLeo holds down the bass lines.

The group performs a roster of Aerosmith staples, each track less a tribute than a reclamation project. Nostalgia mingles with reinvention as the tour unfolds, more jam session than eulogy.

Joe Perry Project Swaps Drummers Mid-Countdown, Keeps Beat Steady

As the Joe Perry Project tour gears up for its August 13 kickoff in Tampa, a lineup shift reshuffles the deck. With Stone Temple Pilots' Eric Kretz temporarily stepping back following a family emergency, longtime collaborator Jason Sutter reclaims the drum throne.

The tour, a concise eight-date affair, pares down expectations while adjusting the rhythm section with quiet pragmatism. No drama, just a baton passed with minimal fanfare, backstage and on cue.
