Meryl Streep to play Joni Mitchell—confirmed over cocktails, not Instagram
Meryl Streep is officially stepping into the role of Joni Mitchell in Cameron Crowe’s upcoming biopic, a casting rumor floated for some time and now confirmed by Clive Davis. This revelation arrives not with a studio press release or curated Instagram drop, but amid the velvet and champagne murmur of Davis’s annual pre-Grammys gathering.
No teaser, no title, just the cool certainty of Streep donning the mantle of Canada’s elusive singer-songwriter, as murmured beneath the chandeliers of industry ritual.
