ANTHRAX's "Cursum Perficio": A Patchwork of Sounds, Not Quite a Symphony
In anticipation of ANTHRAX's twelfth studio album, "Cursum Perficio," drummer Charlie Benante offers insights to Erin Greatrix of This Day In Metal. He describes the album as a mosaic of varied influences and distinct periods reflective of the band’s evolution.
Slated for release on September 18 under Megaforce in the U.S. and Nuclear Blast in Europe, this offering marks the group’s first full-length studio endeavor since their last record, promising a confluence of moods and ideas that traverse ANTHRAX's storied career.
Anthrax Completes the Journey with New Album, Rocks the Kids' World!
Anthrax reveals their first album in a decade, 'Cursum Perficio,' releasing on September 18th. The new single, 'It’s For The Kids,' is a fiery nod to their '80s roots, featuring powerful riffs from Jonathan Donais and Scott Ian paired with Joey Belladonna's signature vocals.
Guitarist Scott Ian describes the track as a love letter to fans, capturing the band's quintessential intensity. Drummer Charlie Benante elaborates on the album's title, linking it to the phrase "I finish the journey," an idea sparked by a Marilyn Monroe documentary.
